Choices in Hosting For Websites

If you want to have a successful online presence web hosting will be a major concern. One of the best ways to do that is to be sure that you understand what Web hosting is and also which hosting package is right for your needs. By doing that you'll have a better chance of getting the right thing at the right price. There are many different kinds of Web hosting packages and the package with the most popularity is free hosting. The downside to these is often times you get what you pay for so do your homework and find a reliable host – and they are out there. Another type of hosting plan is Shared Hosting This means you'll share your bandwidth with other sites. Usually shared hosting is ok for hosting simple sites however it won't do for a large one that have a heavier traffic flow, reason being you might crash the site and you won't be able to do business at all. Dedicated hosting means that you have your own Web server and control over it so you won't have to worry about sharing anything with anyone. It's a great choice however its also expensive. A managed hosting service is one where you also have your own Web server however you don't get the control You can still upload via FTP though, so most anything you need is doable with no trouble. No matter which type of Web hosting you go with be sure that you take the time to really get what you want and need. You'll be a lot happier in the long run if you don't just go with the least expensive choice. On occasion free hosts are all you need but other times they can cause a lot of problems for those who use them. If you do go with a free service please do some due diligence and pick the right one for you Just because all hosts might be priced similarly doesnt mean they are all the same. It's never prudent to assume things especially when you are talking about the livelihood of your business.

  1. When you choose a dedicated web server to host your sites you have to pay attention to a lot of things indeed. But the main concern in my point of view is the up time which should be over 99.9% especially if u are running a big site! Things like disk space and bandwidth should be taken in consideration last. There should also be a good raport between the price you pay and the services you receive in exchange!
The rule “u get what u pay for” is applied only in a small number of companies that provide web hosting and this is very sad. So be carefull when you choose a web hosting service!
